So here it is... or better yet, I have started.
So the countdarling.org homepage is gone. It wasn't updated for many years and really was quite ugly. Hopefully, things will look prettier now. And the content should be updated much more frequently. We'll see.
Blogging means I have something to say. Well we all do. Some of us are not shy when it comes saying whats on their minds. Others listen more than we speak. I'm in the latter group. I listen to understand.
So here we go. First, an introduction to the Darling clan.
I have a thoroughly delightful 2.25 year old grandson, Kaysen. I'll post some links to Google photo albums to bore you to tears. Of course with him comes a mom, Tiffany our oldest, and a dad, Stephen. The Baird's are quite a family. Stephen is ladder climbing at AutoZone (and doing very well). Tiffany not only raises Kaysen and keeps the Baird household, she also takes care of Lisa's 93 year old mother, Harriet, who is 93 years old. Her body is becoming more frail by the day, but she's all there mentally. So some days Tiffany just about loses her mind between the two.
Ashley is our middle child. She's a millennial through and through. She's an aspiring writer with two novels in the works. She's been in the veterinary practice world for over 10 years, but is now moving on to new horizons. She is a pop culture aficionado, with a room of Pops and books (pictures on the way). She like Comicons, Star Wars, Marvel/DC movies and writing retreats. She's still here at the compound which suits Lisa and I just fine... mostly.
Our youngest is Beau, or Alphonzo Beauregard Council Darling V... yep, the 5th. He was married in 2017 to Shannon in St. Louis. A good time was had by all, and I'll link some pics of them as well. Shannon has a Masters in Higher Education Student Affairs, and is working her career path in Normal, IL as a Academic Advisor at Illinois State University. Beau is back in school pursuing Information Technology certifications in Networking.
Lisa is basically kicking ass and taking names in the real estate market here in Northwest Arkansas, to the tune of making the top 100 real estate agents in the NWA market in 2018- out of 2600 - that puts her in the top 5%.. not bad for someone in their third year in the business.
Me? I'm a Software Engineering Manager for Dent-a-med, a consumer finance company. As of 2015, we stopped being a small Springdale, AR mom and pop shop to a wholly owned subsidiary of Progressive Leasing, in Salt Lake City, Utah - which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Aarons furniture rental folks. Needless to say, things are not the same as they were.
So that's the short story of the Darlings... I'm always tickled by the name Darling, and the Darling family in the old Andy Griffith shows If you don't have some grey, you wont understand the reference.
